Hi Mamas! Hope everyone is staying healthy and safe during these times. I have been trying to stay positive and optimistic that this too shall pass <3. Hopefully will still be able to celebrate the welcoming of our baby with either a bridal shower or blessingway with our family and friends in the upcoming months. Wanted to reach out to see if any mamas here have chosen to celebrate with a blessingway instead of the traditional baby shower? If so, how did it go and any suggestions for planning? <3

I did both for my first child. I had a baby shower and then separately I had a Blessingway where I only invited my mom and my closest friends. It was really special! If you’re able to do both, I would :) You can also hold your Blessingway as a part of your shower. With my second child I had a small sprinkle but didn’t end up doing a Blessingway and I regretted it. There are a lot of ways you can go about a Blessingway. I would look online for some inspiration and what type feels like it calls to you the most. If you’re thinking one over the other, it’s really hard to say since it’s such a personal choice. A Blessingway is much more intimate and focuses on showering mama and baby with love, well wishes, and shared stories. Whereas a shower focuses more on monetary gifts, socializing, and is more of a party. ;) Both are great in their own ways! Hope this helps.

Thanks Sarah! Due to the times we are still facing, we've decided to do just a virtual couples shower via zoom. I hope to still be able to experience a blessingway somehow or maybe in the future with our second child.
